About The SEA Forum

The Supported Exempt Accommodation Forum - SEA Forum - is a group of exempt supported housing providers operating across the West Midlands, representing around 15% of the Birmingham City Region’s 33,000 exempt supported beds.

Our knowledge is grounded in our frontline experiences of housing and supporting often vulnerable and homelessness people, and The Forum was created in response to the growth of supported exempt accommodation across the region.

The Forum members convene regularly, meeting at various venues across the Birmingham City Region, and have committed to ongoing improvement through learning and sharing good practice.

Our aim is to set and raise standards in care and accommodation and improve resident wellbeing and outcomes across Birmingham and beyond.

This includes ensuring all residents have access to basic amenities and have the right to be treated with dignity and respect, and live free from harassment, neglect, fear, or abuse.

The SEA Forum also champions Birmingham’s Supported Exempt Accommodation Quality Standards (SEAQAS), developed by Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) in partnership with Birmingham City Council.
