The SEA Forum’s registered providers and managing agents adhere to the Supported Exempt Accommodation Quality Assurance Standards, or SEAQAS.
The SEAQAS have been developed by the BVSC (Birmingham Voluntary Service Council) in partnership with Birmingham City Council to assess the standard of supported exempt accommodation.
Those signing up to the SEAQAS also adopt The Charter of Rights for Residents of Supported Exempt Accommodation – or COR.
COR empowers, informs, and supports individuals in supported housing by setting out their rights and what they can expect from their accommodation provider.
COR can be adopted by attending a workshop and a commitment to implementing its recommendations to improve customer engagement, after which you will receive a certificate and the right to use the COR logo.
SEAQAS accreditation will entitle you to become a preferred provider with Birmingham City Council. There is one application form whether you are applying for the SEAQAS assessment or to become a COR adoptee.
These Birmingham City Council backed initiatives mirror The SEA Forum’s mission to improve and highlight good practice across the city and demonstrates a commitment to the wellbeing of individuals accessing supported exempt accommodation.
